About A050

Dream Come True

While studying for his MA in Mass Communications at Syracuse University in 1968, Larry Hayes dreamed of becoming a publisher--some day.

After graduation in 1970, Larry and his wife Gloria moved to San Jose, California beginning his journalism career as a newspaper reporter for the San Jose Mercury News and then working as a Marcom manager for high tech companies including Memorex, Raychem and Ampex.

In 1983, Larry left the corporate world and launched his own marketing agency named Hayes Marketing Communications, Inc. His advertising and public relations firm helped launch dozens of successful startups including Linear Technology, Cadence and Palm.

This year A050 is celebrating its 16th anniversary. What started out in 2005 as a 12 page printed newsletter has morphed into a monthly digital publication with local and national advertisers. Thanks to our readers and sponsors, A050 digital media publishes the leading boomer and senior publication in the San Francisco Bay with over 100,000 readers across multiple platforms including the A050 website and social media.

So far, so good.
