Cover/profile: Lynn Sheredy, 55, Surfer Nurse at Kaiser Permanente.
“No matter how crazy my life, getting into the water to surf for just a few hours ALWAYS makes things better,” said Lynn Sheredy. She surfs three times a week and would surf more if she had more time. “I love the fact that I can get into a wave and ride it and I don’t need anybody or anything (except my board) to do it.”

When not working as a registered nurse at Kaiser Cosmetic Service in San Jose, CA, you’ll likely find her riding the waves in Santa Cruz, CA. Although somewhat a dangerous sport, you’ll find many boomers and seniors surfing today.

ASK LARRY—“After 20 years at a high tech company, I lost my job 12 months ago and still haven’t found anything. I’m 55. Is that the problem?”

Adventures Off the Beaten Track—Award-winning, travel writer Don Mankin revisits Ireland after 45 years and finds much hasn’t changed and driving is still a nightmare but the food is much better—“Driving the Wild Atlantic Way On the West Coast of Ireland.”

“100 Years Longevity Warranty” by Walter M. Bortz, II, MD. The human body is made to last 100 years. Will you make it?

“How to Feel Great At Any Age” by Karl Knopf. Is there such a thing as healthy aging?

“Remodeling Trends for Baby Boomers. Part 2: Bathrooms” by Bella Babot, Harrell Remodeling.

“Fit-n-Happy” by Jerry Barker. Sue Beugen, 74, shed 40 pounds through proper nutrition, regular exercise and a de-stressing regimen.

“Tips to Keep Your Memory Sharp” by Dedra Jize, geriatric care manager at the Law Office of Roy Litherland.

“How to Slow Down Aging” by Larry W. Hayes, publisher of ActiveOver50 media.

“Four Ways to Maximize Your Social Security Benefits” by Jared M. Elson of Regent Wealth Management.

“Senior Financials: Nothing’s Set In Stone” by Evelyn Preston, Money Lady.
